High Protein Fruit Smoothie

A fruit smoothie is an easy, on-the-go breakfast option. A high protein fruit smoothie is even better, as it can provide that extra punch of what you need to start your day off right. These drinks are the best way to add fruits and vegetables to your diet. This version of fruit smoothie adds an extra kick of protein. I used the Vega Proteins and Greens chocolate flavor drink mix. You can add whatever you would like for extra benefits.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup almond milk (can substitute other milks or even water)
  • Handful of kale, torn in pieces
  • 1 banana (cut up)
  • 1-2 scoops of protein drink mix (based on personal preference)

Directions

  1. Measure out the fruits and pour them into your blender.
  2. Add the kale to the blender.
  3. Pour in the scoops of protein drink mix (if you are using it).
  4. Add the milk and banana to the blender.
  5. Cover the blender and mix until smooth and thoroughly mixed (about 30 seconds).
  6. Pour the fruit smoothie into a cup and enjoy. (Makes about 3 cups.)
